Here’s a story I share in class about why the greatest technology in the world won’t help you succeed if you’re not pointing it in the right direction - and a shot from a trip Vienna to illustrate. Hope you Enjoy!
“It wasn’t that the driver almost ran me over. It’s that he had no idea he was racing towards a blocked street ahead. He had plenty of horsepower, but he wasn’t focused on directing it. His fancy new technology (it was 2012) was distracting him. So, he ended up stuck for hours without a fare.
These days, I see this same situation happening to salespeople who are arguing on social media, jumping at so-called new leads, or letting their time tick-tok away entertaining strangers who can neither help them nor pay. Some spend hours driving people around only to find they have earned no fare. Meanwhile, someone right here, a friend, past client or neighbor - even a prospect waving money at them - can’t get a lift because they’re going in the wrong direction. So much opportunity is left behind because the driver is focused on looking down rather than looking around.”
