Note to Self: Don’t Psych Yourself Out
This morning there was a headline. Last week there was a conference. Later today there will be a press release. Tomorrow there will be a TikTok. If you’re looking for a distraction or a reason to tell others what you think of their plans, it won’t be hard to find.
You could pontificate about some tech firm’s new button.
You could decry a competitor’s new compensation gimmicks.
You could spend all day analyzing a novel way to share navels on social media.
You could endlessly correct all the wrong thinking in the comments section.
Or you could just get on with it.
The one or two or three things that matter.
The steps that only you can take.
The actions that have nothing to do with what others are doing.
The conversations that only you can make.
The discipline,
The focus,
The trials,
The mistakes.
If you want to get closer to the career you want, the life you deserve, the work you love and the difference you want to make:
Don’t let yourself get distracted.
Before you get on with it.
