Act Like You’re On Your Way

Here’s a little lesson I’ve learned over the years:

- You don’t have to be a writer to write today.

- You don’t have to be healthy to eat better today.

- You don’t have to be a top producer to make some calls today.

- You don’t have to be a leader to help someone else today.

When I decided to be a speaker, I just got up one day and started speaking. I wasn’t excellent yet. But I was speaking - just like speakers do. Every day I acted more and more like professionals speakers do. I trained like them. I practiced like them. I acted in the ways I saw the best ones act. And I kept going.

Act like you’re well on your way:

To whatever you want to be, to reach, to achieve. Give it a try. Do what you imagine you’ll be doing when you reach your goal. Just do it now, when you’re setting out. You might find that you’re closer to your dreams than you thought.

At the very least, you’ll have got started.
